Visual seating for Lincoln city centre

Visual seating for Lincoln city centre

Furnitubes were specified by North Midlands Construction to provide visual seating for Lincolnshire County Council.

The council required seating with a significant visual presence to be used as part of traffic-calming measures as well as providing useful short term seating for shoppers.

Furnitubes’ in-house designers developed a unique circular bench for the scheme.

Manufactured in two sizes - to suit the available space and for visual variation - the steelwork was supplied in a hardwearing corten effect nylon coating, with the iroko hardwood slats in a finish coat to maintain good long term colouration.

Overall the scheme has provided this section of Lincoln High Street with a new lease of life, making the area more attractive to shoppers and giving local businesses a boost.

Following positive feedback of the Lincoln installation, a complete new range - named Axl - has since been developed to offer circular benches in three different sizes and four different forms.
