Under a large scale upgrade and refurbishment scheme at Warwick University, over 35,000m² of URSA 10 Loft Roll has been installed across 10 of the estate's key buildings.

Keen to utilise a sustainable, lightweight and cost-effective system, Coventry-based Williams Joinery & Construction specified URSA’s market-leading product. Builders merchants, Builders Supply Stores Ltd was able to supply large quantities of product across the three-month installation period to the installers on an ongoing basis.

A mixture of lecture rooms, residential buildings and teaching blocks form part of the upgrade programme, all of which will benefit significantly through reduced heat loss in the oncoming winter months.

Manufactured by one of Europe’s leading insulation manufacturer’s, URSA 10 Loft Roll is a lightweight, non-combustible, unfaced glass mineral wool material. URSA glass wool products do not contain or use ozone depleting chemicals such as CFCs and HCFCs and are manufactured to ISO 19001 quality standards. The URSA system was specified following initial consideration of a number of eco-friendly insulation systems including one made of recycled plastic bottles. Following careful consideration, URSA 10 Loft Roll was chosen and its environmental benefits cited as a key advantage.

A high-quality, durable material, URSA 10 Loft Roll is available in a choice of four thicknesses (100, 150, 170 and 200mm). A combination of three thicknesses was used at the Warwick University scheme.
