Shell and core completed and commissioned in 2009/10 with the fit out additions in 2010. BSB supplied 283 fire/smoke dampers, 4 fully networked addressable damper control panels and a fireman's override panel during the shell and core with a further 100 dampers during the fit out.

The system was designed in conjunction with the building services consultant to provide for a comprehensive fire engineering strategy and indication of the dampers, AHU's smoke fans, window vents and access doors throughout the building in a fire alarm condition or fireman's override situation. All devices being connected to data loops and with the panels networked together so any device could be viewed from any of the panels.

The fireman's override panel was supplied in the format of a touch screen PC with an interactive graphics package pre-loaded with the projects floor layout CAD drawing showing the live damper icons in actual locations.

This was further enhanced by placing the fireman's override buttons on the touch screen within each and every zone to open/close supply/extract dampers. The operation of these switches had a direct override control of the relevant fans.
