Resin Bound Explained
Resin bound paving is a choice of natural aggregate, luxury marbles or recycled glass mixed with a UV stable resin partly derived from plant extracts. The mix forms a layer with tiny pores that the water drains through to the ground or drainage system below the surface. When installed, the resin bound mix is trowelled to ensure an even finish.

Choose A Resin Bound Surface
Permeable surfaces potentially help prevent urban flooding and stops puddles in rain. Planning permission is not required for areas larger than 5m².

Durability and sustainability require a solid base structure. Bases of sharp sand are prone to displacement and settlement.

Resin bound installations are quick, on average taking a maximum of two days, opposed to 5 - 7 working days to install a more traditional paving type.

Resin bound is easy to clean and unlikely to yellow over time. What’s better about a resin surface is no weed growth, so you’ll spend little to no money, time, and effort keeping your resin surface clean and free of weed growth.

A resin surface potentially could be more expensive to install, you’ll have significantly lower aftercare and maintenance costs, and its life span will save costs in the long run.

Lastly, a resin bound surface poses less slipping and tripping hazards. Water drains through the material so it’s not slippery when wet, a dryer surface makes algae and moss growth difficult. In winter, puddles can freeze and form patches of ice, a resin surface collects water within the voids without damage.
