Founded in 1986 by current owners Roland and Marilyn McCarthy, WP Products began as a small NHBC-registered housebuilding company under the name Woodland Properties. With a background in civil engineering and construction—gained through years in site engineering and management roles for a major construction firm—Roland brought extensive technical knowledge and a strong design focus to the business.
By the late 1980s, the company began to shift its focus away from housebuilding, identifying a niche in the commercial market for high-quality flyscreens. In the early 1990s, WP began designing and manufacturing its own range of flyscreens for both commercial and residential use from its dedicated factory and warehouse in Berkshire.
To support this growing area of work, the company expanded its offering to include complementary specialist products and services. These now include manual and electric window control systems, servicing and repair of commercial window and door systems, louvres, grilles, PVC strip curtains, and bird control solutions. Many of these products—such as flyscreen meshes and bird deterrent components—are available on a supply-only basis and are regularly dispatched to builders’ merchants and trade customers nationwide.
Today, WP Products is a trusted name across the UK, serving a broad range of clients from private homeowners to FTSE 100 companies. Their customer base spans the construction industry, public sector organisations, schools, charities, housing associations, and residential properties of all sizes.
The team at WP has extensive experience working across a diverse array of building types, from historic Grade I listed properties to contemporary, high-tech structures. Their comprehensive offering combines expertise in fault finding and repair with specialist installations such as flyscreens and manual window controls, ensuring a complete service package—from feasibility and budgeting to on-site coordination and end-user support.
