Zehnder Multicolumn radiator for Savoy Hotel

Zehnder Multicolumn radiator for Savoy Hotel

The most ambitious restoration project in British history, taking over three and a half years to complete at a cost of over £200 million, the restoration of the Savoy Hotel in London has included the installation of Zehnder Multicolumn radiators within the guest rooms and corridors. With an objective to retain the two main design aesthetics of the building; Edwardian English style and 1920’s Art Deco, the Zehnder Multicolumn radiator was chosen for it appearance, flexibility of sizes and quality of fixings.

Craig Abrahams, at ReardonSmith Architects, Europe’s leading architectural practice specialising in hotels and responsible for the design development and implementation on-site explains, “Blending seamlessly with the original style of the building, the timeless elegance and classic profile of the Zehnder Multicolumn made it the ideal choice for this project. In addition the made to measure sizes gave us complete flexibility in design and the quality of fixings ensured no unsightly brackets, a key factor for the client.”

A mixture of floor and wall mounted units were installed throughout the hotel, with the radiators being supplied in two colours to match the interior design schemes. The fast heat up and high heat emission rates of the Zehnder Multicolumn also ensure guests benefit from a highly comfortable indoor climate. Out to reclaim its position as one of the world’s greatest hotels The Savoy is now, once again welcoming film stars, royalty and politicians from across the globe.
