Zehnder ZBN radiant heating panels have been installed to ensure a comfortable indoor working environment for employees at the Reading train care depot. The depot comprises a range of buildings including a train shed, train wash, administration building and plant and store rooms. It is within the main train shed that the ZBN radiant heating panels have been installed.

The main depot centre was designed by Jacobs and their technical director Stuart Lowe explained "When designing the heating system for what is an extremely large space, our two key considerations were the thermal comfort of those working within the shed throughout the year, plus the need for an energy-efficient system to help keep heating costs down"

From an installation perspective the practical nature of the radiant panels has also been advantageous, and Mr Lowe was delighted with the work carried out "Our experience of working with Zehnder has been positive. We have received a good level of service and technical support, and are confident the building will provide an energy-efficient heating solution for Network Rail, as well as a pleasant environment for their train care team.”
