Client: Acorn Property Group
Type of works: supplied Flushjoint Aluminium Rainwater system
Alumascs contemporary Flushjoint Aluminium Rainwater system has been chosen for a landmark development in Newquay.
Situated in the surf capital of the UK overlooking the famous Fistral Beach, Zinc is a bespoke development of 52 apartments from the Acorn Property Group. Designed by LHC Architecture, Zinc incorporates the highest standards of modern design and specification, both inside and out.
The coastal location of Zinc demanded a rainwater system that could withstand the rigours of the Cornish weather whilst offering an appealing, modern aesthetic. The Flushjoint Aluminium rainwater system from Alumasc comprises a contemporary range of extruded aluminium downpipes based on concealed spigots to give a smooth, clean appearance that suited the specification perfectly.
Alumasc approved contractor Kingswood, installed the Flushjoint system using 75mm downpipes and 3mm seam-welded hoppers. Alumasc also created a bespoke BBA Approved powder coating to match the unusual colour of the Zinc facade.
Flushjoint offers a choice of circular, square and rectangular pipes which are compatible with Alumascs Heritage, Aqualine and GX Gutter systems. It is lightweight, durable, non-corrodible and offers a life expectancy of up to 40 years in rural/suburban areas and up to 25 years in industrial/marine areas. 16 Standard colours are available with additional BS or RAL colours obtainable by special order.
Ease of installation is a key benefit, with a choice of brackets to give varying projections whilst securing the pipework with minimum visual intrusion. It has minimal maintenance requirements and the material hardness and fixing mechanisms offer excellent rigidity and high impact resistance.
In accordance with Alumascs Environmental Policy, aluminium is 100% recyclable.
