1960s modernist building transformed into a 21st century family home

Clement Windows were thrilled when designer Rachel Macgadie of RM Design chose Clement windows to replace the fenestration of her now former home. The 1960’s building, originally designed by pioneering modernist architects Fry, Drew and Partners has been sensitively refurbished into a contemporary light-filled family dwelling.

Rachel wanted to retain as much of the original architectural language of the house as possible and complement this with steel framed windows and doors both inside and out, creating a seamless experience between the house and the garden. RM Design carefully curated the interior to acknowledge the heritage of the building but at the same time create a space that works for 2021 and beyond.

A mixture of both EB24 and W20 Clement steel window ranges were used for the new windows and doors and these were all painted in a striking matt black.

Rachel Macgadie commented of the project:

“As an Interior Designer I have previously used Clement Windows in a professional capacity.
