Air-filled pillow roof system for Royal Botanic Garden

Air-filled pillow roof system for Royal Botanic Garden

Novum has provided their three layer, ETFE Air Filled Pillow System for The Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh. Novum was contracted to engineer, furnish and install two ETFE air filled pillow roofs in the John Hope Gateway building at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh.

Over the restaurant, Novum installed a three layer Air Filled Pillow System with a screen print on the top ETFE pillow layer to provide shade to patrons below. Solar control was not necessary for the roof above the tree filled reception area, so Novum suggested a more economical two layer Air Filled Pillow System without screen print.

During installation, the Novum team took extra care to ensure the adjacent sedum roof was not damaged.
