Children at the new Barlby Primary School have fantastic outdoor spaces to enjoy.
The school opened in September 2021 and was built alongside Kensington Queensmill Special School as part of a £39 million investment by the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Council.
Barlby Primary provides pupils with a range of outdoor play and learning spaces including playgrounds, terraces, an outdoor gym and multi-use games area.
Working with groundwork contractor Realtime Civil Engineering, for main contractor Mace Group, Broxap Street Furniture designed and manufactured a wide range of seating to complement the hard landscaping.
This included one of their Tiptree mild steel and timber Benches, built to a height of 430mm with an armrest at each end.
A further seven Tiptree Seats, featuring backrests and armrests, were delivered to the school along with two Tiptree Picnic Units.
Five Short Benches also from the Tiptree range completed the seating arrangements with three Olympus Perforated Litter Bins situated throughout the grounds to keep them clean and tidy.
The timber used in the furniture was FSC Certified and all steel frames were galvanised and powder coated top RAL 7021 Black Grey.
Sustainability was a key consideration in the building of the school which includes 18 classrooms, an art room, library and orchard teaching facility for children with autistic spectrum conditions.
Equipment from their Sunshine Gym brand is also available for students to use during PE lessons and break times.
