The recent programme on Channel 4 highlighted the basement extension conducted in Hertfordshire.
This particularly project was designed by a registered Wykamol installer.
The basement extension was designed 12 months earlier by the technical design team at Wykamol to give a dual waterproofing scheme in accordance with Bs8102.
This was an incredibly challenging project, as there was a podium deck waterproofing scheme which needed a design, as well as a retaining wall.
When site work commenced, Wykamol were on site to check on progress and to make sure that the pile walls were going to be suitable to carry out waterproofing on.
When the concrete walls and deck were installed Wykamol attended site and commenced site checks on the waterproofing membrane installation, which was a Type C Cavity drain system.
But before this Wykamol specified Type A Crystalline Slurry Hydra Dry as the primary waterproofing coating.
The podium deck Wykamol decided on was the Flexible Tanking System Hydra Flex. This was used alongside Wykamol’s Movement Bandage System Proflex, to give a fully waterproofing podium waterproofing system.
The client also wanted a retaining wall with a waterfall built into it, for this the waterproofing needed to work alongside the waterfall and ensure the membrane wasn’t penetrated, as this would cause issues.
Wykamol are proud to be associated with such an amazing project and think it is fantastic that their products are being used on jobs across the UK.
