A brand new high school has been equipped with a wide variety of facilities to support students through their secondary education.
Broxap Street Furniture has designed, manufactured and installed a range of cycle parking and has supplied seating, picnic benches, door barriers and litter and recycling bins for the £20 million Chorlton High School South.
The school opened in September 2021, delivered by BAM Construction and Pozzoni Architecture.
Working with the site team, they developed two customised Wardale run of shelters to be used for cycle parking.
Their engineers were able to accommodate different gradients in the school grounds to develop a ClearView clad Wardale shelter for 90 bicycles.
This was installed along with a second run of shelters with a capacity for 40 cycles. This configuration included one bay which features space saving sliding gates for secure storage.
Thirteen Senior Sheffield Cycle Racks, each with five hoops, were manufactured for the school with three additional hoops provided for visitor cycle parking.
The green theme continues with litter and recycling bins situated around the school grounds. Two of their Buxton bins for general litter, and two Buxton bins for recyclable materials were made for the high school from galvanised steel, powder coated RAL 9005 black with text and images under the apertures.
Mild steel barriers were supplied to mark out motorcycle bays and 13 door barriers complete with crossbars protect the school building and pedestrians.
Outdoor dining is encouraged with 11 recycled plastic Sneyd Hill Picnic Units supplied to the scheme, two with table extensions to accommodate wheelchair users.
Four of their Reston Seats and 19 Sturdy Benches, all made from recycled plastic, completed the furniture order. All were manufactured in colours to complement the school’s landscape.
