Clement Naked Steel windows and doors with galvanised finish enhance newly renovated workspace

Kew Studios and Works is no ordinary workspace! Formerly a manor home, the building has been completely refurbished, but sympathetically to incorporate the original period charm in the new modern design.

Sustainability has been key throughout: solar panels, a living green roof and electric vehicle charging have all been included and there is even a space for safely leaving bicycles. Already achieving a B Energy Performance Certificate (EPC), it is hoped the development will also gain a BREEAM Very Good certification.

Clement was thrilled to manufacture and install the new steel windows and doors required for the project. We offered a number of products which suited the renovation perfectly. For the outside of the building, Clement’s W40 steel door and window profiles were chosen. Instead of being painted, these have been left with a Clement Naked Steel galvanised finish, which looks stylish and contemporary.

Inside we used Jansen Janisol 2 and C4 profiles to create a series of internal doors and screens. These allow the ample natural light to flow through the space beautifully.

Andrew Martin, Founder of AMD Interior Architecture said “The project brief was to create light, bright, welcoming spaces which are modern and functional but true to the original character of this former 18th century house and connected 1940’s warehouses. Clement’s steel-framed windows and doors help to achieve this, allowing masses of natural light to flow throughout the space. The service received from start to finish was outstanding, as was the result.”
