Type of works: supply and installation of the Reynaers CW50 Horizontally-Lined curtain walling system (CW50 HL).
Clydebank College is a 3-storey campus catering for more than 10,000 students, recently relocated to the Queens Quay development alongside the River Clyde, Scotland.
The campus covers an area larger than 6 acres and houses state-of-the-art facilities including engineering and construction workshops, science labs, sporting facilities and a conference suite.
The project features the Reynaers CW50 Horizontally-Lined curtain walling system (CW50 HL). CW50 HL allows the accentuation of the horizontal lines of the design as no vertical external capping is required. Also used on the project was the CW50 Structurally Clamped system (CW50 SC) which gives a seamless appearance to the outside of the façade due to the lack of any external aluminium capping.
The glazed façade allows maximum natural light penetration into the space, reducing the reliance on artificial lighting. Such qualities enabled the product to meet both the aesthetic and the practical demands of the design.
