The letterflap on a mailbox can be polyester powder coated in a different colour to make it stand out from the main body of the mailbox.

This can be used to reinforce a companies brand identity by using corporate colours on the mailbox, segment different departments using the same bank of mailboxes or effectively highlight the mailbox number and letterflap opening.
