Compact HTM-Pro T Series delivers high-performance ventilation for space-constrained healthcare environments.
Daikin Applied (UK) has launched the HTM-Pro T Series, an advanced, compact air handling unit (AHU) designed specifically to meet the demands of UK healthcare premises. The new unit has been developed to deliver efficient, hygienic ventilation while addressing the space constraints often faced with refurbishment projects and restricted plantroom installation.
Manufactured and tested in Daikin Applied’s UK facility in Cramlington, the HTM-Pro T Series is fully compliant with the latest NHS ventilation guidelines (HTM 03-01) for healthcare environments. This includes enhanced hygiene, control functionality, and ease of maintenance - key priorities for critical healthcare ventilation.
Engineered for space-limited sites
With a compact footprint starting from just 1100 mm wide and 3840mm long, the HTM-Pro T Series offers airflow capacities from 0.85 to 4.2 m³/s across the full range. It’s designed with duct connections on the top and pipework to exit from the side, enabling installation directly against walls - an ideal solution for plantrooms with limited floor space or where access constraints prevent the use of larger, traditional AHUs.
“HTM-Pro T Series is the result of listening to healthcare clients and engineering a solution that truly fits modern hospital environments. With its reduced footprint, enhanced control capability, and service-friendly design, it gives specifiers a reliable, UK-manufactured option where space, hygiene and compliance are equally critical.” explains Adam Carney, AHU Product Manager at Daikin Applied (UK).
“It’s a significant addition to our UK-manufactured AHU portfolio, reflecting our ongoing commitment to support the NHS with innovative, locally produced equipment.”
Built-in hygiene and easy maintenance
The HTM-Pro T Series includes fully removable slide-out drain trays that require no tools, simplifying hygiene maintenance. Integrated internal LED lighting improves visibility for servicing and inspections, supporting routine maintenance and compliance with stringent healthcare standards. An innovative filter frame design allows filters to be removed without reaching into the unit, improving ergonomics while maintaining a strong seal to ensure no bypass.
Technical highlights include:
• Filtration: Two-stage filtration with ePM10 70% (M5) primary filter and F7 (ePM1 55%) final filter for high indoor air quality.
• Heat Recovery: High-efficiency counterflow plate heat exchanger recovers up to 80% of thermal energy.
• Construction: T2 TB2 Thermal break casing with 42mm double-skin, mineral wool insulation, and stainless-steel internal parts.
• Controls: Factory-tested, integrated plug-and-play digital control system simplifies commissioning and operation.
• Fans: EC Fans with IE5 motors for high efficiency and low energy consumption.
• Drainage: Tool-free, removable drain trays ensure easy maintenance.
• Access: All pipework exits from the side of the unit, allowing the front face to remain clear for ease of maintenance and enabling installation directly against walls.
Supporting the UK healthcare sector
The HTM-Pro T Series is supplied as a single-cabinet unit, streamlining delivery and installation where site access allows. With all design, manufacturing, and testing carried out in the UK, customers benefit from shorter lead times and equipment engineered to meet UK-specific healthcare requirements.
The launch builds on Daikin Applied UK’s extensive experience in providing advanced, energy-efficient ventilation solutions for healthcare, commercial, and industrial buildings. The HTM-Pro T Series complements the company’s existing range of AHUs, including the bespoke-built D-AHU Professional, Modular Units, and CRAH solutions, all manufactured in Cramlington, UK.
The HTM-Pro T Series will be exhibited for the first time at the Healthcare Estates Conference and Exhibition on 22–23 October 2025. Visit us at the event to experience the unit firsthand. More information is available at: https://www.healthcare-estates.com/
