Grange Park Primary School needed to replace an old and dangerous central atrium ridgelight. Whitesales specified continuous Hip Ended rooflights. They were perfect for this project as they are purpose-made and blend in with the fabric of this much-loved listed building.
The original rooflight was leaking and in very poor condition so the contractor turned to Whitesales for a durable answer to the problem. An Em-Glaze Hip End ridgelight was specified as a high-quality cost effective solution which would remain sympathetic with the design of the original roof light.
Available in spans of 0.6m up to 7m, and slope pitch of 15° to 60° (although 30° is supplied as standard) they were flexible enough to fit the unique requirements of an older construction. They incorporate six electric opening sections, which are thermostatically and rain sensor controlled. As a result the listed building has been transformed and once again the exterior lives up to its listed status, while the interior is bathed in natural light.
