EPDM rubber roofing for new lodges

EPDM rubber roofing for new lodges

Sedum Supply Limited has provided a EPDM waterproof membrane solution for the roofs of new lodges in St Mary's, Isles of Scilly. The new bespoke lodges are designed to unsure a unique holiday experience.

The project was subcontracted to Sedum Supply Ltd by Pod Living Ltd to complete the EPDM waterproof membrane for the 7 roofs. The project has not only been exciting but challenging at times. Access to the islands is difficult making shipping materials costly and time consuming however Sedum's experienced team has been working hard to complete the project quickly and to a high standard.

As the project developed it was desired that something needed to be designed to fit onto the EPDM rubber which would allow the roof cladding to be safely secured to it without compromising the EPDM waterproof layer. Sedum's design team quickly began work on designing bespoke brackets for each roof to allow the installation of the cladding and shipped these over to the Island for installation. Sedum Supply is experienced in designing bespoke fittings for roofs to provide the best installation solution.

The project consisted on 980 square meters of Firestone EPDM Rubber Membrane. Sedum's experienced team have installed the EPDM membrane as a waterproof layer before the finishing roof cladding is installed to complete the desired log cabin look. EPDM is a highly durable rubber roofing membrane which is used and recommended worldwide. It provides a watertight and extremely durable roofing solution for small and large commercial projects. Also it has an incredible life expectancy of 50 years, which is considerable more than traditional roofing materials.
