Finding solutions for socially distanced spaces [BLOG]

A blog by Twinfix...With schools halving class-sizes and many pubs cutting capacity by up to 80%, they are being urged to get creative with their space in order to meet social distancing regulations, as they look to reopen over the coming months.

For many schools and businesses hoping to reopen canopies, outdoor shelters and covered walkways could be a great investment. These versatile structures offer a cost-effective and quick solution to extending classrooms and eating areas and providing shelter for customers queuing at shops, while tradition building extensions can be costly and take months, these structures are quick to erect and more likely to fit within budget constraints.

Twinfix are a family business, that have been operating for 30 years as a reputable and accredited designer, manufacturer and installer of high-quality, safe canopies which have benefitted many businesses across a variety of industries, including education, retail, and hospitality.

Many thousands of Twinfix canopies have been installed over the years to create glazed covered areas at schools, universities, pubs, outside offices, hospitals, and sports centres. As many turn to Twinfix to supply structures during this pandemic, they can rest-assured that the benefits of these products will long outlive the current pandemic.

A Twinfix canopy makes an attractive focal point at any building entrance, and provides shelter over stairways and ramps for the disabled. Glazed walkways are used to connect buildings and provide all-weather protection from the elements. When used to protect tables/benches they provide great covered outside eating areas. If a canopy is fitted with vertical glazing it will provide additional shelter and the addition of lockable roller shutters offers security and allows the area to be used for night-time storage.

Twinfix canopies hold the CE mark of safety, are installed by a team of DBS checked installers and are manufactured at their factory in Warrington. The roofs comprise of the innovative Multi-Link-Panels NF, which can be glazed with multi-wall or solid polycarbonate.

These panels are Non-Fragile to the ACR[M]001:2014 drop test. The aluminium frames can be powder coated to match the school/business exteriors. Using aluminium for the framework is Twinfix’s material of choice as it is such a versatile product. It can be formed into many shapes; it is relatively light in weight – making it easier and safer to handle and install.

Aluminium is a great choice for a canopy as it does not rust in use and will stand up to the test of time They can also be fitted with vertical glazing and roller shutters to provide additional shelter and security.
