In addition to reducing the heat loss, good floor insulation significantly helps to increase overall levels of comfort by ensuring the internal temperature remains controlled despite fluctuating external temperatures.
The compressive strength requirements will determine which variant of Ravatherm XPS X is most appropriate. Ranging from 300 kPa to 700 kPa, Ravatherm XPS X is suitable for everything from residential flooring to cold stores to aircraft hangars.
Residential Floors
Ravatherm XPS X ensures efficient and safe thermal insulation within the floor structure of buildings.

As well as reducing the heat loss, good floor insulation significantly helps to increase overall levels of comfort by ensuring a positive internal temperature gradient as heat rises. An insulated floor utilises heat storage capacity of the overlying construction more effectively.

Commercial Floors
High-strength extruded polystyrene thermal insulation products such as Ravatherm XPS X can be used to insulate floor structures.
Regardless of the function and construction of the building, they can be inserted above or below the ground bearing concrete slab.
Thermal insulation placed beneath the concrete slab is continuously exposed to intensive stresses and load caused by:
• Daily use (movement of vehicles, forklift trucks, weight of high shelved racks, machines, industrial equipment)
• Static load (load transferred from adjacent building structures)
• Dynamic load (starting, braking, vibration)
• Mechanical load generated during construction phase
Cold Store Floors
Ravatherm XPS X combines high compressive strength, low moisture uptake and exceptional lambda values into a product ideally suited for a range of applications including cold stores.
