Flowcrete had the opportunity to contribute to the refurbishment of the iconic Daily Express Building on Great Ancoats Street in Manchester. The project was for OBI Property and working through Main Contractor Spacescape Ltd, this project aimed to rejuvenate the Grade II listed building, originally designed by Sir Owen Williams in 1939.
Flowcrete's trusted partner Anchorite collaborated closely with Spacescape and Ben Adams Architects over a 12-month period to ensure the elegant redesign of this architecturally significant structure was executed to the highest standards.
Mondeco Flooring
For this project, Flowcrete’s bespoke Mondeco Resin Terrazzo flooring systems were chosen, which were installed by our trusted partner, Ancorite. The choice of Mondeco Resin Terrazzo was driven by its durability, aesthetic appeal, and suitability for high-traffic areas, making it the perfect fit for the Daily Express Building's reception area.
Additionally, a stunning terrazzo feature spiral staircase was crafted to seamlessly connect the lower ground floor with the ground floor, combining beauty and durability of Mondeco flooring. To further enhance the entrance, Ancorite applied Precast Terrazzo to the entrance steps, providing a grand and welcoming finish that complements the building's historic charm.
Commitment to Durable Flooring
The successful completion of the Daily Express Building project underscores Flowcrete’s commitment to delivering superior outcomes on complex and high-profile projects. Our dedication to quality and client satisfaction is reflected in every aspect of the work, from the meticulous selection of materials to the precision of the installation by Ancorite.
The restoration of this iconic Manchester landmark not only revitalizes a piece of architectural history but also reaffirms Flowcrete’s position as a leading manufacturer of innovative and high-quality flooring systems. We are proud to have played a pivotal role in this project and look forward to more projects to come!
