Flowcrete’s Mondeco Flooring Systems were trusted to bring to life the high-class retail section of the new Westfield Shopping Mall. This project involved an extremely complex elliptical pattern featuring seven shades of terrazzo, requiring precise setting out and careful application.

The Project
Ancorite, Flowcrete's trusted partner was responsible for the careful installation that was required for the intricate design demands. This required planning and expert installation. Ancorite began with an extensive and exacting selection of shades and non-standard stone sizes. A pumped screed was laid to level, followed by the application of an elastomeric membrane. Ancorite provided detailed CAD drawings to guide the site engineers in plotting the different terrazzo patterns accurately.

The terrazzo was expertly laid within the designated bands, then ground, grouted, polished, and sealed to achieve a flawless finish. Attention to detail and accuracy were critical, as the floor was divided into four sections where seamless connections were essential for the visual impact.

Results
The completed Mondeco Terrazzo floor delivers a decorative, hard-wearing, and easily maintainable finish, enhancing the aesthetic appeal and durability of the retail space. This project showcased Flowcrete’s high-quality flooring solutions for any environment.
