GCP waterproofing solutions for a Newcastle Hospital

GCP waterproofing solutions for a Newcastle Hospital

GCP have provided their PREPRUFE® 300R and BITUTHENE® 3000 waterproofing solutions for the basement walls of a £300 million transformation of a hospital in Newcastle.

The project involved consolidating the Royal Victoria Infirmary and Freeman hospital into two.

Both PREPRUFE® 300R and BITUTHENE® 3000 were used on the basement walls in the grade 1 (multi storey car park) and grade 3 basements to protect against the effects of gas penetration.

PREPRUFE® delivered a pre-applied waterproofing solution, applicable to below slabs and on confined basement walls.

The solution BITUTHENE® 3000 is a self-adhesive waterproofing membrane, and was post-applied to areas constructed with removable formwork, followed by GCP HYDRODUCT® drainage sheets to protect the membrane.
