Novum Structures was appointed to design, manufacture and install a glazed rooflight and supporting structure as part of larger refurbishment works at Leeds Trinity West shopping centre.

The BK-system gridshell structure with hidden pre-stressed fasteners provided an elegant and lightweight solution. The complex geometry was optimised to produce a solution ensuring the glass panels were supported in their own plane over the tight radius of the curve.

Novum's ECG-system was selected as it dealt with the geometry in a way that a linear solution could not. The bolted system allowed for rapid and controlled installation.
