Engineers can now receive CPD credits from ACO Water Management, after its Managing Highways Surface Water in-house presentation was recognised by the CPD Standards Office.
To provide greater flexibility, ACO will also offer a webinar version of the presentation, which, takes place on Wednesday 3 July.
The CPD will provide guidance on how to comply with Highways England’s requirements and solutions, while participants will also learn how to overcome problems encountered in urban and rural highway schemes.
With the course being particularly relevant for those involved with the highways industry, attendees will also have the opportunity to ask ACO questions, with a dedicated Q&A session at the end of the programme.
There will also be the opportunity to view the webinar on playback where you can also leave questions or feedback that will be picked up by the ACO team.
The webinar is in the wake of recent headlines, which have seen roads and homes flood across the UK due to high levels of unanticipated rainfall.
Terry Wilkinson, Highways Application Engineer at ACO, who is leading the webinar said: “Our webinar provides a fantastic opportunity for engineers to increase and broaden their understanding of the ongoing issues related to surface water on highways. Flooding continues to be an issue for the UK, and this webinar will provide an overview of how we can prevent flooding in the future, as well as offering guidance on the best drainage applications.”
