Hull History Centre, Hull

Architect: Pringle Richards Sharratt Architects
Type of works: engineering, furnishing and installation of an intricately curved roof along the south side of the Hull History Centre.

Novum was contracted to engineer, furnish and install an intricately curved roof along the south side of the Hull History Centre. Half of the roof covers an outdoor seating area for guests and the other half encloses the main reception area. Featuring the Novum AFP membrane system, the roof consists of 23 ETFE air-filled pillows that attach to a custom glulam structure.

The curves and tight radii of the structure was a test for the patterning and fabrication skills of Novum’radii Novum’s membrane production facility.
