Insulated panels for Energy Recovery Facility

Insulated panels for Energy Recovery Facility

Euroclad supplied over 21,000m² of ElitePLUS 4 roofing, as well as Vieo feature cladding and non-combustible insulated wall panels for the Trident Park Energy Recovery Facility in Cardiff.

In a first of its kind in Wales, Viridor's Energy Recovery Facility (ERF) is creating both electrical energy and a renewable energy district heating system. Tata Steel Projects, working with main contractor Lagan Construction, acted as the lead designer for the facility and the site was never going to be the easiest to develop.

Euroclad's Elite standing seam systems are designed as ‘zipped’ constructions over supporting halters. The system is designed to move freely under thermal expansion, creating no stress on the seams. The outer sheets joint system is also designed to breathe, removing the need for additional breather membrane or building paper.

Donald Renfrew, Head of construction Health and Safety at Viridor said, "I would like to thank and congratulate everyone working onsite for their on-going commitment and excellent work to ensure safe and timely delivery of this project. The individuals working on site have taken a proactive and collective approach to Health and Safety, which I am sure has been a key factor in the safety record of the project to date."
