As the company gear up to award the Apprentice of the Year 2017 we look back on 2016’s winner, Joe May.
The Daikin Applied Service Apprenticeship Scheme has been running now for seven years and the programme has gone from strength to strength.
The “Apprentice of the Year” award has been introduced to commend the hard work, dedication and achievements of our young apprentices.
The apprentices have to go through a monthly assessment to monitor their development; it is split into six sections: ability, attitude, appearance, paperwork, time keeping and monthly work book reports, all of which are considered when selecting the talented winner.
Following twelve months of hard work by all the apprentices the final tally along with references from their Managers, Supervisors and the engineers, culminated in Joe May (DAPS Southern) being awarded with the accolade of “Apprentice of the Year 2016”.
Mark Bailey had commented: “Joe has showed positive attitude throughout the year and it has been a pleasure working with him”. I’m looking forward to 2017 being part of the apprentice programme and can only hope that this year the scheme grows and everyone involved show as much enthusiasm as they have in 2016”.”
Only time will tell who it will be to snag the coveted award in the new year!
