In step with the latest kitchen trend, CERAN® induction cooktops are now available with a high-quality matte black coating.
The elegant, easy-care surface with a sharp, detailed view of the controls also minimizes the visibility of scratches.
Leading home appliance manufacturers plan to launch matte cooktops in spring 2025.
Matte surfaces are the latest trend in modern kitchen design. With the CERAN® matte line from SCHOTT, high-quality glass-ceramic cooktop panels now feature a matte look, offering understated elegance, soft transitions, and calming presence in the kitchen. The innovative coating gives the classic black CERAN® glass-ceramic cooktop panels a sophisticated matte finish with a unique feel – perfectly aligned with the latest kitchen design trends. At the same time, the cooktop’s user interface displays controls and cooking information with crisp, sharp clarity.
"With the CERAN® matte line, we offer design enthusiasts a cooktop that impresses not only with its elegant matte appearance, but also with its outstanding functional properties. The surface is easy to clean and reduces the visibility of scratches up to five times more effectively than conventional CERAN® glass-ceramic," explains Dr. Jörn Besinger, Head of Product Management and New Business Development at SCHOTT CERAN®.
After generating a great deal of excitement at the A30 Küchenmeile (MOW) in the fall of 2024, leading home appliance brands such as Bosch, Siemens, NEFF and BORA plan to launch the new SCHOTT CERAN® cooktop in the spring of 2025. To that end, the international technology group today started series production in Mainz, Germany. "This trend will catch on incredibly quickly,” predicts Marco Tümmler, Managing Director of Gaggenau Hausgeräte & NEFF Hausgeräte. “I expect that in three to five years we will see almost exclusively matte cooktops."
