As part of the Riverside project in Sunderland, the former Gilbridge Police Station has been remodelled as a stunning new office building. Riverside Sunderland is set to become a new urban quarter right on the riverside in the heart of the city. Featuring over 1,000 homes, beautiful parks, memorable landscaping and 1 million square feet of offices and workspace.

The Yard is in a prime location, next to Keel Square, offering units ranging from 500 to 6,000 sqft, catering for start-ups, growing companies and SMEs. The office spaces will have access to a stunning new business lounge, as well as a suite of meeting rooms.

As part of the development, Brims Construction are carrying out the work at the former Gilbridge Police Station site. During the works, Helmsman were asked to supply some lockers. The client requested Heavy Duty lockers with a wood effect finish, alongside a bespoke vanity cupboard with vanity shelf.

Helmsman manufactured and installed 20 two compartment Laminate Lockers for this project. The choice of laminate was BioCarbon Laminate in colour, Washed Oak; a great carbon neutral option that provides a lasting finish.

The lockers came complete with black Lowe & Fletcher Nimbus locks; fantastic digital combination locks and matching black circular numbering. The area below the lockers, and the ends of the lockers were covered with matching laminate plinths and end panels to give a seamless finish.

Alongside the lockers, The Yard also features a bespoke vanity unit, designed specifically for the job. The unit has been made with the same BioCarbon Laminate and will be finished with a Corian shelf top. Whilst Helmsman manufacture a variety of standard lockers, as all of their products are made to order, they also specialise in bespoke options.
