Neaco supplies total solution for Total Construction

Neaco has supplied an extensive specification of modular walk-on balconies and sun terrace balustrade at Broadwater Road, a prestigious development of luxury apartments in Welwyn Garden City from Bishopswood Estates Ltd.

Comprising 24 properties, each offering highly specified two-bedroom living, the £6m project was built by main contractor, Total Construction Ltd. The stylish contemporary design of the three-storey complex includes a predominantly glazed façade maximising the use of natural light to one elevation. Neaco developed and supplied a full design solution for various balconies including aluminium decking and balustrade combining powder coated aluminium handrails and stanchions with toughened glass panels. The same balustrade combination was chosen for the extensive terrace areas occupying the top floor.

Utilising a wide range of standardised components, Neaco’s modular systems are independently tested to confirm full compliance with all relevant building regulations including a Euroclass A1 or A2 fire safety rating required for external wall elements on buildings above 18m in height. The products are designed for quick installation, enabling contractors to minimise time spent on site.

Peter Collins, Construction Director at Total Construction, said:

“Neaco provided excellent technical support, producing design drawings to meet the client’s visual concept, and creating a stylish contemporary aesthetic in keeping with the rest of the development. Their balcony and balustrade systems are designed for fast installation, a valuable attribute in facilitating the efficient planning and time management which were key to the smooth delivery of this project. Total Construction carries out refurbishment and new build projects across a wide range of sectors, from residential, education and commercial to heritage and conservation. We would have no hesitation in using Neaco’s products and service for future developments in those sectors.”

Alan Green, Neaco Managing Director, said:

“Broadwater Road is a project of outstanding design and build quality, benefiting from the expertise and experience of Total Construction Ltd in delivering the scheme to an exceptional standard. Neaco were proud to play our part with the design, manufacture and installation of the balcony and balustrade elements. Architects, contractors, and developers value the peace of mind our products bring in terms of their ready-made, fully tested compliance. They also value the maintenance-free durability that our systems offer, with non-chip coating to rails and decking made from rust-free aluminium.”

A large percentage of Neaco’s business has been built in residential development, but the company serves a wide range of other sectors, including commercial, industrial, leisure, education, and healthcare. With a 52,000 sq. ft factory in North Yorkshire, Neaco manufactures a wide range of products including industrial walkways, multi-purpose architectural grilles, solar shading louvres, structural glass balustrade and adaptive bathing aids.
