Security expert Abloy UK announces the dates for its popular, free to attend Foundations and Foundation Plus courses, which cover the majority of standards applicable to door sets, focusing on fire and panic escape doors.
The course helps attendees recognise ‘fire doors’ and understand the escape risks and regulations applicable to public buildings, which is particularly beneficial with construction product regulations dictating the use of fire tested hardware. These standards and their uses are explained in detail, to help ensure attendees only specify compliant solutions, and help save lives.
The Foundations course explains the needs of a door, from its location within the building and the use that the door is subject to; it also covers the minimum performance standards, Dynamic Lockdown and the Constructions Product Regulations and is presented by standards expert Pat Jefferies in easy to understand terms.
The Foundations Plus course is an advanced add-on to the Foundations course, going one step further in educating delegates on industry terminology. This provides attendees with the knowledge to specify products that are suitable for both the application and door type.
The course covers the locking and escape requirements for access control electric locking in both retrofit and new build applications, ensuring a safe and secure solution. Enrolment on the Foundations Plus course is subject to having successfully completed the Foundations course.
