When it comes to pushing the limits, there are few racing series tougher than the FIA World Endurance Championship. The world’s best supercars and the most talented drivers are pitted against one another in a series of punishing endurance races, including the legendary Le Mans 24 Hours. For Ford, the return to Le Mans holds particular significance, as it marks the 50 year anniversary of the iconic Ford GT40’s victory at the Le Mans circuit.
Even for Ford Chip Ganassi Racing, a team built on vast amounts of real racing experience, there are a huge number of factors that can affect the chances of success in an endurance championship. As well as needing a fantastic car, world-class drivers and expert mechanics, there are hundreds of other details to consider, not least ensuring that the race workshop is properly kitted out and fit for purpose.
It’s with this in mind that Bott has partnered with the Ford Chip Ganassi Racing WEC team, to provide them with high quality Cubio equipment for its workshop. A series of mobile and static drawer cabinets, as well as large and small cupboards, were installed into the sub assembly car bays and the fabrication & machine room just before Christmas, in time for the official unveiling of the team to global media. Mobile drawer cabinets will be used in the team’s garage during race meetings.
Becoming a product partner for the Ford Chip Ganassi Racing WEC team is an incredibly exciting opportunity for Bott and furthermore, it represents our ongoing commitment to build relationships and provide equipment of unparalleled quality to companies who share our passion for innovation and success.
"Every race team needs technical suppliers it can rely on to deliver quality products," said George Howard-Chappell, Programme Manager for the Ford GT race car and Ford Chip Ganassi WEC Team Principal. “We had very specific requirements when it came to the race team needs for both the workshop and on-event cabinets and Bott supplied us with an innovative, bespoke solution."
