The Safety Letterbox Company has recently supplied mailboxes to the prestigous Olympic Village in London.
A leading London based developer installed 120 fire rated mailboxes into the site in an 8 high by 15 wide configuration.
The Safety Letterbox Company in association with the Fire Research Labaratory worked together to create a range of 1 hour fire rated (integrity only) mailboxes to satisfy the integrity criteria given in BS476 Part 22 1987 Clause 8 for a period of 60 minutes.
Fire rated mailboxes have strategically placed intumescent closures to starve a potential fire of oxygen. They also have a special fire rated locking mechanism.
