Classroom sizes are on the rise and space in schools is increasingly becoming a valuable commodity.
Jason Eastwood, Managing Director of Canopies UK manufacturer and installer of quality canopies, explains the steps schools are taking to get the multi-functional space they need.
Limited space and budget restrictions within the education sector have seen a rise in schools investing in outdoor classrooms.
Canopies are an ideal solution for creating external classroom space as they are:
• Quick and easy to implement
• Affordable and cost effective
• Don’t compromise the look and feel of existing environments
Canopies are not just a temporary solution, they are self-contained buildings that provide protection from wind, rain and UV rays. They can also feature retractable roofs that are operated by a remote or smart device, sliding glass doors, integrated guttering and heating.
Canopies UK have installed canopies in a number of schools across the UK. For example at Sir Stanley Matthews School in Stoke-on-Trent they installed a canopy with a retractable roof and wall sides, to extend their dining area to maximise space and alleviate congestion.
This space can also double up as a teaching and meeting space
At St Winstanley College in Wigan, Canopies UK installed an outdoor canopy to create more dining space. This also provides students with a space to go during free sessions to study.
Both educational settings were able to get more out of their outside space, all year round, thanks to Canopies UK.
