Canopies UK’s Espana range helped The Garrack Hotel, St Ives, make the most out of their unused terrace area.

The Garrack is situated in an elevated position above St Ives, with far reaching views of St Ives Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.

The hotel felt that their terrace area, next to the leisure complex, was underused. Guests tending to go back to their rooms once they had finished using the pool and sauna. With wonderful views the terrace area was somewhere they felt could be made more inviting.

The owner was looking for inspiration and came to Canopies UK, his main idea was to create a space where people could sit outside – Al Fresco style.

The canopy needed to fit seamlessly with the hotel and its surrounding environment, so after meeting with the client they opted for Canopies UK’s Cantabria product, part of their Espana outdoor dining range.

The canopy has led to further success for the hotel; customers are using the leisure facilities and then moving on to the bar and outside terrace area, having a meal whilst enjoying the beautiful views.

The terrace area has also now become a venue in its own right, hosting receptions and wedding parties for the St Ives community. Added value for the hotel which they were not expecting, they now market the area for just parties.
