Bradford Markets are vibrant community hubs located across Yorkshire, including sites in Shipley, Keighley, Bingley and Bradford city centre destinations such as Oastler Shopping Centre and Kirkgate Market.

The markets support local businesses, independent traders and community events, offering artisan goods, fresh produce, street food, crafts and international cuisine while contributing to the regeneration of town centres and public spaces.

To support the growing demand for outdoor trading and events, Pop Up Power Supplies® was selected to provide a reliable and discreet outdoor power solution as part of a wider infrastructure improvement project.

Pop Up Power Supplies® supplied nine IGU Slim In-ground power units across multiple market locations in Bradford.

Installed by LED Electrical, the in-ground units provide secure and accessible power supplies for outdoor stalls, events and market trading activities while maintaining the appearance and functionality of the surrounding public realm.

Designed specifically for high-footfall public spaces, the units provide safe access to electricity and telecommunications with minimal visual impact. Their recessed lids allow paving infill to blend seamlessly into the surrounding surface, helping maintain a clean and uncluttered environment.

The units also help remove the need for temporary generators and trailing cables, improving both safety and aesthetics across the market areas.

Key features of the installation included:

• Lid-locked operation to reduce tampering and improve public safety
• Recessed lids for seamless integration into surrounding paving
• Gas strut-assisted lift operation for simplified maintenance access
• Single and three-phase power options with 16A and 32A socket combinations
• EN124 B125 load classification suitable for light vehicle traffic
• Security locking head and yellow safety tread plate supplied as standard
• Manufactured to ISO 9001 quality management standards

The units were manufactured from high-grade mild steel and hot dip galvanised to BS EN ISO1461 standards for long-term durability and corrosion resistance.
