Zakłady Azotowe Puławy decided to renovate the reinforced concrete structure of one of its cooling towers. The scope of works included strengthening the columns and the base ring of the cold store and restoring the load-bearing capacity of the jacket by joining the cracks created in it.
The investment was carried out with the Ruregold FRCM system, using PBO-MESH 70/18 (formerly RUREDIL X MESH GOLD or RUREGOLD XP) glued on the polymer-modified PBO-MX Concrete mineral mortar (formerly RUREDIL X MESH M750 or RUREGOLD MX).
The main condition for the selection of reinforcement technology was the implementation time, so that the facility remained out of use for as short a time as possible. The goal was achieved thanks to the unique properties of the FRCM system, enabling faster and simpler implementation compared to the traditional method of reinforcement with steel elements and with the FRP system based on epoxy resins.
