Specialist architectural aluminium systems company Reynaers Aluminium has successfully achieved ISO 14001 accreditation for its Environmental Management System.
Assessment of the companys environmental procedures was carried out by the British Standards Institution (BSi), the worlds most respected standards body, which issued the certificate of registration.
As an organisation we have had environmental and sustainability policies in position for a number of years, explained Mark Jones, Reynaers Design & Development Director. It was a natural progression to pull these together in developing our Environmental Management System in order to reduce the environmental impact of the business.
Obviously, for us it is not just the products and the fact that these are made from totally recyclable material, it is the many other things we use within the business. The process allowed us to take a long, hard look at all the products and processes we use, the supply routes and collective impact these have on the environment.
What this means to all our customers is they can be assured that all our products meet the exacting quality standards and are fully assessed as to their environmental impact.
As part of the exhaustive process the company also reviewed all of its in-house and supplier procedures to ensure they fully complied with the EMS, as stipulated within the ISO 14001 standard.
The extensive range of Reynaers sustainable products from doors to windows, curtain walling and slope glazing products to solar and sunscreening systems are all covered within the environmental policy along with associated hardware and accessories.
Reynaers continues to maintain its market leading initiative on sustainability with its product range, the Rey-cycle programme - a unique all encompassing site waste management system - and ongoing development of its highly efficient thermally insulated systems for passive construction.
