Rosarium, Sangerhausen, Germany

Architect: Otte
Type of works: design, manufacture and installation of a membrane structure for ampitheatre roof.

Sangerhausen is known for its great rose garden, Rosarium. A recent renovation of Rosarium included the addition of an amphitheatre to protect the audience from rain and sun. Novum’s scope included the design, concrete work for the foundation, manufacture of the membrane and steel, and erection of the membrane structure. The membrane roof is created with a biaxial tensioned single layer of PVC Type-4. The roof has a double curved structure with two high points and six edge points. Fantastic coordination amongst the Novum teams allowed this project to be completed in less than 100 days.

AES and TC painted, hot-dip galvanized steel and galvanized steel tension cables provide structural support. The CTF membrane roof consists of a biaxial tensioned single layer of PVC Type-4.
