• Technology group increases performance in the categories of sustainable procurement and labor & human rights
• Improved ranking compared to the previous year and among the top 3% of rated companies
• EcoVadis recognition of sustainability activities creates transparency
The technology group SCHOTT has once again been awarded GOLD by the renowned sustainability rating agency EcoVadis for its sustainability management. “This external confirmation shows that we are on the right track with our commitment to environmental protection, ethical business practices, and social responsibility,” says Dr. Frank Heinricht, CEO of SCHOTT.
The decisive factor for the improved ranking was a consistent improvement in performance across several criteria. Despite ever-increasing demands in the evaluation, SCHOTT moved up in the overall rating – instead of being among the top 4% in 2023, the technology group now achieved the top 3% of all evaluated companies.
In the Sustainable Procurement category, the score increased from 60 points to 80 points compared to the previous year. This improvement reflects the proactive approach to responsible procurement and supply chain management. As a result, SCHOTT is now among the top 2% of the glass industry and the top 3% of all companies evaluated worldwide in sustainable procurement. In addition, the company increased its score in the labor and human rights category from 60 to 70 points. The energy-intensive company also scored highly in the environment and climate categories, achieving 90 out of a possible 100 points.
“This result puts us well above the industry average,” explains Dr. Tobias Kälber, Head of Environment, Health & Safety (EHS). ”We will continue to improve our high standards and set ourselves additional ambitious goals.”
