Shearings Tarbet Hotel

Shearings Tarbet Hotel

Client: Shearings Tarbet Hotel
Contractor: M J Cladding of Strathclyde
Type of works: A combination of Altro products has recently been fitted throughout 35 ensuite bathrooms in Shearings Tarbet Hotel in Loch Lomond, following the success of several kitchen refurbishments for the hotel chain over the past three years.

Alan Black, Area General Manager for Shearings Hotels, comments, "We have been very impressed with both Altro's products and the craftmanship of Altro Whiterock Premier Installer, M J Cladding of Strathclyde, in the kitchen installations we have undertaken in the past. When we planned the refurbishment of the bathrooms in the Tarbet Hotel we knew we could rely on Altro to provide a quality installation."

Altro Whiterock Hygenic PVC Wall Cladding in Begonia from the Designer range was chosen for the walls of the bathrooms, complemented by an Altro Whiterock ceiling creating an hygienic, hard wearing and attractive environment.

John Tillman of Altro Whiterock Premier installer, M J Cladding says, "The Altro Whiterock sheets replaced a number of different existing surfaces in the hotel's bathrooms including, ceramic tiles, wallpaper and laminated boards, all of which caused the customer problems such as damp and the surface coming away from the wall. As Altro Whiterock is fitted directly on to the existing surface it provides a wall covering that is durable and free of any void where germs can breed. It is also extremely easy to wipe clean using only a mild detergent."

Alan Black continues, "The surface we have now is ideal for the hotel bathrooms. The Tarbet Hotel is 300 years old and we experience some movement to the structure. Altro's modern wall cladding actually moves with the older building", he adds, "At Shearings we have a programme of continuous refurbishment and as soon as the budget becomes available I am keen to use more Altro products in other parts of the hotel and other Shearings hotels in the area."
