Sustainable Unbound Aggregate
Blue Phoenix UK
Energy from Waste plants are a key UK Government strategic solution for dealing with municipal solid waste and a more sustainable alternative to landfill. The major residue from Energy from Waste (EFW) is IBA (Incinerator Bottom Ash), the Blue Phoenix process provides an effective and efficient creation of a construction material resource in urban locations that would otherwise go to landfill.
Incinerator Bottom Ash Aggregate (IBAA) has been used for over 20 years as a construction material with the benefits it brings as a cost effective, low carbon and sustainable solution to traditional materials. IBAA can be used in all layers of a construction platform for building industrial units to highways construction and complies with the Specification for Highway Works (SHW) 600 and 800 series for Class 1A, Class 6F capping material and Type 1 sub-base.
