Type of works: supply of Reynaers' aluminium curtain walling, windows, doors and thermally insulated profiles to riverside apartment development.
Reynaers Aluminium has helped bring bold modern architecture to an historical area of South East London by providing curtain walling, windows and doors and thermally insulated profile systems to an exclusive riverside apartment development.
Overlooking the river Thames and in sight of Canary Wharf, the Armouries development is situated amongst 76 acres of land and an impressive central water courtyard. Comprising of one, two and three bedrooms, each apartment enjoys an outdoor terrace or balcony. Once the countrys most important centre for the manufacture and storage of military equipment, Royal Arsenal Riverside has been transformed into an area of community life.
Reynaers CW50 curtain walling, CS68 windows and doors and TLS110 thermally insulated profile systems of lift and slide elements were installed throughout the development by Clapton Glass. Covering a complete elevation of the development, the CW50 curtain walling maximises light penetration into the terraces, while the CS68 windows and doors, incorporating Reynaers' three chamber system, provide improved thermal insulation. TLS110 insulated lift and slide elements allow easy access to the buildings whilst ensuring water tightness, wind resistance and security.
Designed by A and Q Partnership, this historical site has been revived by Berkeley Homes who have more than 30 years experience of creating sound and stylish residences. As well as being located near to frequent transport links into London Bridge, Cannon Street, Waterloo East, Charing Cross and central London, the riverside community also benefits from an extensive range of onsite features including a residents gym, museum and restaurant.
The development sits alongside refurbished Grade I and II listed buildings, featuring terraced houses and further luxury apartments. The development will soon include a Holiday Inn Express hotel and Tesco Express amongst its amenities, whilst proposals are underway to build a Crossrail Station on site.
