Timber windows for Westminster apartments

Timber windows for Westminster apartments

Mumford & Wood has provided their timber windows for a refurbishment of Lincoln Court, an early 20th Century mansion block of 6 contemporary-style apartments. The property falls within the conservation area of the City of Westminster.

At the six-storey Lincoln Court, Conservation™ Tilt & Slide sash windows have been installed by main contractor Balfour Beatty Construction Services. These specially adapted sash windows are hung on pre-tensioned springs and have a tilt and slide bottom sash which efficiently and conveniently tilts inwards into the room. Externally the window suites with the rest of the collection and has slender meeting rails, fine glazing bars and traditional mouldings.

Mumford & Wood worked closely with Cluttons at the pre-tender design stage to provide details and specifications. Ben Lines, Associate, Cluttons LLP, said: “I was very happy with the design and after sales service provided by Mumford & Wood and the quality of the windows are excellent. The tilt and turn feature is a real benefit for our client which enables some maintenance and cleaning work to be undertaken without the need for expensive external access equipment.”
