Troax UK Limited has designed and constructed a showcase production area for Bushboard, the UKs largest independent manufacturer of work surfaces. The production area houses new manufacturing equipment at Bushboards factory in Wellingborough, Northants, which has been installed in order to produce the companys new range of high quality, kitchen worktops.
Constructed using Troaxs Bastion (formerly Broadsword) range of single skin, solid-steel partitioning, the production area contains CNC machines and manual-handling equipment which are used to manufacture Bushboards new Encore range of solid-surfaced worktops. Bushboard wanted to create a smart production line environment to reflect the quality of the new worktops which give the feel of solid stone at a lower cost than bespoke solid surfacing or granite.
Creating this separate zone within the larger worktop manufacturing area also had practical advantages; segregating the manufacturing processes helps to keep dust contained within the area and create a tidier and more ordered production line area. The partitioning also provides a degree of noise insulation to improve the working environment.
Broadsword partitioning was ideal for the project as its modular construction made it simple for Troax to build the 45 x 16m enclosure to fit the existing space available on the factory floor. The enclosure is open at both ends so staff can access the area easily.
The heavy-duty partitioning also provided a very cost-effective solution as John Andrew at Bushboard explains: Troax were recommended to us for this project by another of our suppliers and we have been very impressed with both their service and the quality of their products. Their partitioning was competitively priced and the enclosure is well made and looks good, enabling us to achieve exactly the professional looking production environment that we wanted at a reasonable price.
Troaxs service was also first rate they were very professional and everything was delivered and installed on time, despite a tight timescale. They worked well with us as a team and were very flexible, working around our existing production lines which had to remain fully operational. Needless to say, were very pleased with the new production area.
