Troax Partitioning Creates New Production Areas for Leading Computer Manufacturer's New Facility

Troax’s Elan, (formerly Excalibur), double-skin steel partitioning has been used to create a large production area at the new manufacturing facility of one of the world’s leading computer manufacturers in Lodz, Poland. The project, which was carried out in conjunction with Dublin-based Dexion Systems Limited, also involved the construction of new storage areas, which were built using wire mesh partitioning from Troax’s Broadsword range.

The computer manufacturer specified Troax’s Excalibur system for its European manufacturing facility in Lodz, one of the most advanced in the world, as the partitioning had already been installed in a similar project at the company’s premises in Limerick, Ireland. In particular, Excalibur provided a high quality construction and finish, while its modular design offered the versatility required to create the complex layout of production areas.

A combination of solid steel and glazed panels was used to construct the new production areas which encompass laboratories, assembly and strip-down areas, holding areas, control rooms, administration and shipping offices. The glazed panels allow plenty of light into the area to ensure a pleasant working environment.

Pedestrian doors have been fitted throughout, as well as a number of rapid action roller doors to allow access for fork-lift trucks.

As Joe Hanrahan at Dexion explains, Excalibur partitioning is ideal for creating production areas and offices in this type of busy, industrial environment: “We had previously installed Excalibur partitioning at the company’s manufacturing facility in Limerick and they were very happy with the result – unusually it offers a very robust
and hardwearing construction yet looks very smart and attractive. That’s why it was specified for the new facility in Poland.”

“Excalibur’s modular design is another useful advantage – with a wide range of panel sizes and elevations to use, it’s simple for us to adapt the partitioning to create a bespoke solution that meets the exact needs of our client.”

The steel Excalibur panels are of monobloc construction comprising two steel skins separated by an inert mineral wool insulating infill; this design also helps to provide a high level of sound and heat insulation.

Dexion also used wire mesh partitioning from Troax’s Broadsword range to build secure storage facilities for high value computer components. Wire mesh was used for this project as it creates a ‘translucent’ and fully visible storage environment yet offers a high level of security. It also allows smoke and heat to filter through to trigger smoke detection systems and allow the effective penetration of sprinkler systems in the event of a fire.

Continues Joe Hanrahan: “Troax are very good to deal with – their service is always prompt and efficient and the quality of their products is excellent.”
