Tudor Roof Tiles announces continued product availability

Against a backdrop of industry-wide roofing materials shortages, British manufacturer Tudor Roof Tiles is upping its game to ensure availability across its range of clay roof tiles.

Delivery times are currently between two to four weeks on standard products and accessories.

The company, which manufactures traditional handmade peg and plain tiles at its factory in Kent, has continued production at full capacity through most of the year in order to keep ahead of increased demand and to keep its prices, where possible, unchanged.

We are very aware that some roofing contractors and stockists have found it difficult to get hold of roofing products and so we are doing everything we can to ensure that we can maintain supply without putting a strain on delivery schedules,” said Paul Lythgoe, Managing Director of Tudor Roof Tile Co Ltd.

Over the last few months, we have noticed significant increases in demand, which we have put down to a rapid recovery in the residential sector due to the surge in new build, new extensions and requirement for offices for home working. Fortunately, as a British manufacturer, we do not have to import our raw materials. which has made it easier for us to respond to demand without disappointing customers.

Made from the finest English clay, Tudor’s roof tiles are individually hand-pressed, moulded and trimmed and then kiln-fired to create an ‘instant aged’ and time weathered appearance. With no two tiles the same, once blended together they create a stunning roofscape and can also be hung vertically as cladding for striking decorative effect.

With their subtle variation of tone and texture and shape, Tudor’s clay tiles are much sought after for the restoration of heritage projects, as well as adding character and individuality to new homes and extensions. Equally, stunning contemporary architectural projects have benefitted from Tudor bespoke sizes and shapes and have won industry and public awards.

All Tudor’s handmade clay roof tiles are made in accordance with BS:EN 1304 and tested to BS EN 538:1994 for strength and to BS EN 539-2:2013 for frost resistance.
