Overview
As part of Rotherham’s Council’s Regeneration Plans for the area which was formerly the Coking Works at Orgreave. Adjacent to the successfully growing Advanced Manufacturing Park, there is consent for 10,000 New Homes, a new Waverley Primary Academy, and further plans for new Retail and Leisure Facilities.

Construction
Meeting the Local Authority’s exacting Technical standards for an adoptable road, IBAA Type 1 sub-base was used as an alternative to a primary material and covered with asphalt.

Benefit
IBAA is an extremely cost-effective material and BP UK is working towards a verified Carbon Footprint.
There are also advantages logistically when using IBAA due to the low density of the material allowing for fewer vehicle movements as this gives volumetric advantages over primary materials.
